2009-2010 CALENDAR

Thursday, November 12, 2009, 6:30 p.m. - Fall Meeting Academy of Teaching Excellence (Hillcrest Hall). Reception at 6:30 p.m. Business Meeting at 7:00 p.m. Guest Speaker.

Monday, December 7, 2009, 3:00-5:00 p.m. CTE/Alumni Award Dossier Workshop (209 Williams Hall). Hosted by Patricia Amateis and Bud Brown. Refreshment will be served.

January 15, 2010  - Deadline for nominations:

Alumni Award for Undergraduate Advising;
Alumni Award for Graduate Advising;
Provost's Award for Excellence in Advising.

February 1, 2010 - Nominations by students for University Sporn Award DUE

Students should submit nominations on-line at http://www.odk.org.vt.edu/spornap.html. From this pool of nominations, finalists will be chosen by the University Sporn Award Selection Committee.

February 5, 2010  - Deadline for Award Dossier Submissions.

Alumni Teaching Award

Last day to submit dossiers of the 2007 (if awarded after March 15, 2007), 2008, 2009, and 2010 college Certificates of Teaching Excellence recipients to the Academy Chair, Gregory Justice, gjustice@vt.edu. For more information, go to Dossier Preparation.

W. E. Wine Award

Last day for College Wine chairs to submit nominations for the W. E. Wine Award to George Filz, filz@vt.edu, chair of the University Wine Award Committee. For more information, go to Dossier Preparation.

February 2010 - Alumni Teaching Award Selection Committee Meeting

Two award recipients for 2010 will be selected. Selection committee consists of the past three years' inductees in the Academy of Teaching Excellence. Bill Beal chairs the committee.

February 2010 - W.E. Wine Award Selection Committee Meeting

Three award recipients for 2010 will be selected. Committee members (one representative from each college) bring a brief biography of their college's candidate. Tom Gardner chairs the committee.

April 22, 2010, 6:30 PM - Spring Meeting Academy of Teaching Excellence (Hillcrest Hall). Reception at 6:30; Business Meeting at 7. Guest Speaker, Induction of the new Academy Members; Elections for 2009-2010 officer positions; Updates about the Honors Program and CEUT.

May 8, 2010, 6:30 PM - March with Honors Graduates from Hillcrest Hall to Graduation Ceremonies in Lane Stadium.
